Does it sometimes seem that you visit a web site and they are speaking a foreign language? Every industry has it’s own jargon and not everyone interested in their products or services speaks, or understands that jargon.
Trying to Eliminate Goobledygook
Marketing, especially internet marketing, can very often be like that. Do you know the difference between CTA and CTR? You should if this is your main business; but, you shouldn’t have to know it if you’re looking for a vendor for lead generation or internet marketing services. By-the-way, CTA is a Call-To-Action that you will frequently see on a web page where they want you to do something – like sign up for a newsletter, or push a button to get something. And, CTR is short-hand for Click-Through-Rate which you want your web site visitors, and email newsletter readers, to do often.
Introducing Aperture
Since we recognize that there will be visitors to this site that won’t always be familiar with the terminology, we have implemented what we think will be a good solution. It’s called Apture, and it can search rich content without leaving your page by highlighting any part of the text and getting a search tip which will say “Learn More” right above the text you highlight. Give it a try, highlight any phrase (maybe ‘search tip’) and wait just a second. When you see the “Learn More” show up above what you highlighted, click on it and look at what you get. (NOTE – you will often have to move your mouse over the scroll bar in the box and scroll down a little bit to get the info you want) It might give you a definition of that term or acronym (like CTA or CTR) from Wikipedia, or give you a snap shot of a web site, or a preview of a video, or lots of different things. The point is that you can learn more without leaving the page that you’re viewing.
Don’t really think it’s that cool? Just don’t highlight anything and it won’t appear.
