It’s no secret that multimedia, and specifically video, can enhance your website. There is plenty of data and anecdotal stories about that. I’m not going to beat that horse, just Google the title of this post and you can find more than enough written on the topic.
I want to tell you about a new (at least it was to me) tool that I have found. This thing is pretty darn cool, and it comes in a free version and a paid version. It’s a very flexible multimedia platform called Cincopa. It is available as a plug-in for WordPress and other blog platforms. I know there are lots of video players out there, but this is much more than a simple video player. You can host images, podcasts, and music as well as video; all in one multimedia platform.
You also have the ability to choose different skins and different configurations. Don’t like any of the skins, standard configurations, or size of the templates they give you? No problem. You can create a custom size and configuration to precisely fit your website page. Or you can use it as a sidebar widget.
It comes in a free version, with everything mentioned above. However, there are storage capacity limitations with the free version. The paid version is actually very reasonable, less than $50 for a year, and comes with much greater storage capacity and some additional features that allow you to be even more creative.
Feel free to check out how we are using it on our website with our Duct Tape Marketing videos. So far we are just using the video player, but I know we’ll be using the other features soon. The image gallery options look great and there are lots of options there too.
Let me know what you think. I always welcome comments.

Multimedia adds life to a website, it cannot be denied that multimedia generates tremendous benefits and responsiveness. Multimedia makes our Web pages more active and fun but if we do not implement it correctly we’ll end up chasing away our visitors instead. Its really important to first know how its going to benefit our customers.
